At the February meeting of Cisco Writers Club, author Jennifer Neville Maddle gave a presentation on conveying truth through humor. We started with an icebreaker in which we each wrote something love/Valentine related with the prompts that Maddle provided. (Some great poems came from this exercise!)
Maddle then read the first chapter of her hilarious and engaging book, The Handbasket Express, which is a “mostly true” (LOL!) memoir. She demonstrated in her writing how perspective shapes a writer and that the right choice of perspective gives you humor.
Thank you, Jennifer, for teaching us about humor in writing and for an entertaining meeting!
