At the December meeting of the Cisco Writers Club, Authors Marilyn Kay Brooks and Marilyn Kay Pineda (together known as their pen name “Marilyn Kay”) gave a workshop to aspiring children’s fiction authors. Participants learned how to write a story that will inspire young minds. They gave workshop attendees advice on tuning into a young audience, tips on writing an engaging plot, and how-to’s for sparking kids’ creativity. Thank you, Marilyn Kay!
Authors Marilyn Kay Brooks and Marilyn Kay Pineda (together known as their pen name, “Marilyn Kay”) are longtime friends who love children and reading. Brooks and Pineda are retired elementary school teachers from Comanche, Oklahoma. In both teaching and writing, they strive to instill curiosity and creativity in children with gentleness and love. Their latest collaboration is The Train to Make-Believe.
