At the October meeting of the Cisco Writers Club, Award-winning author and poet Shann Arriaga (writing as Shann Tajiah) spoke about her recent release, Echoes of Surrender, a collection of poetry and lyrical short stories. She gave club members and visitors tips on how to put our own collections together using older pieces that never found a home and how to identify themes in order to tie in new pieces.
We workshopped using older pieces (or memories) and how we might approach objects or themes in those pieces using different perspectives or a later date in the story’s timeline. Several in attendance shared what they had written during the workshop.
Then Arriaga sold some books to eager buyers. Thank you, Shann!
